Nephrite Jade is also often found in a creamier color and is more often called 'Mutton fat Jade'. Nephrite Jade can be found in many countries and can be found in abundance in the United States as well. It is much more common than Jadeite and thus it is much less expensive.

It is important that you make sure that you do not get cheated when you are looking to purchase Jade. Many a time, Imperial Jade which is a much cheaper type is treated and sold off at the rate of much expensive types of Jade. There are quite a few varieties of Jade that when treated can be sold at a much higher price. Another common gemstone that is treated often so that it looks like the Jade is the soapstone. It is very difficult for an amateur to make out the difference between a well carved Soapstone and Jade.

Another popular gemstone in the market is the Feldspar which is more commonly known as the Moonstone. The Feldspar is a stone that many believe signifies good luck especially for lovers. Moonstone is a very common gift and has very high importance in a lot of cultures around the world. Legend has it that this gemstone needs to be placed in the mouth when the full moon occurs. The name Moonstone was got because it was believed by many that the lunar month could be observed through the stone. It is believed that a white spot approaches the center of the gemstone and during this time increases in size. This happens till the time it takes its place in the center of the gemstone in the shape of the full moon.
